This is how you are so low in the public opinion

I live in Slough. It is a matter of convenience as it is close to my work, and I was able to find a reasonable apartment in the short time I had to look for it. It has also been characterised as a not so good place to live, as “[…] Slough is ranked 93 out of 326 local authority districts, where a ranking of 1 is the most deprived […]” and people I talk to do not have the most favourable opinion of Slough.

In my opinion, it is a decent place, provides what I would need and is also reported as having good schools.

However, some things are rather difficult to defend, such as this lovely display only 20 meters outside the main train entrance:

Horse manure with mushrooms growing out of it.
Horse manure which now has mushrooms growing out of it

This started many months ago, when some horses relieved themselves on the side-walk. It has since been left there, until this morning I saw the wonderful mushrooms which had grown out of it.

It is stuff like this that give this area a bad impression. Come on Slough, pay attention!
