I shut down my subscription to the game today. It’s not that I think the game is bad, far from it. This is the first original MMO I have seen in a while and it is totally empowering to the player. You do not get any more powerful than going 100mph and stepping over your enemies, or ramming their vehicles and watching the 500kgr bike fly away from the impact of your 11ton rig. It is just pure fun 🙂

However it didn’t catch on, for reasons I cannot possible fathom. Maybe people don’t like a post apocalyptic setting, maybe Elves, Dwarves and Spells are more attractive than Biomeks, Mutants and nanobots to most players. I just wish that more people played this game, because this is the only reason I quit. Every day I would see the same 30 people (on a good day); equeen, d20, MrJhay, treeclimber, HELLBENDER, Copyrite… An MMO, for me, should have more people in it. I only grouped twice, and one time was with one player who was so much higher level than me that the quests we did were just a cakewalk. Quests that were hard for solo play and required a group, became “call the high level to kill him while you are grouped so you get the credit”.

And it is such a shame, for the game is very nice, truly original, with loads of content and an amazing back-story, both in the lore of the game and, most importantly, to the quests. It actually rivalled WoW’s quests for that story immersion feeling, and in some cases even surpassed it! Every mission, and I truly mean EVERY mission, had a point to it, was part of a larger design, and things you did at level 25 were coming up as you did quest at level 40.

I should be ecstatic to have found such a game, after the gap that WoW has left in my life, if only I could have found a large enough player base with it as well.
